How to Measure a Truck or Trailer for a Tarpaulin
Five measurements and two photographs are usually enough for an accurate quotation and a cover that actually fits.
The measurements we need
Deck length, deck width, required drop on each side, required drop front and rear, and the load height you intend to cover. Measure the deck itself, not the old cover, which may have shrunk or been trimmed.
Allow for the load and the fixings
A cover has to reach past the load and down far enough to secure. State whether you tie to rope hooks, a rail, or D-rings, and where they sit.
Photographs remove doubt
One photograph from the side and one from the rear three-quarter angle lets us sanity-check dimensions before manufacture.
